What:

The City of Austin’s Watershed Protection Department is completing a feasibility study for the Lower Shoal Creek Flood Risk Reduction Project. For the study, they are evaluating ways to reduce the dangers associated with flooding along Shoal Creek in the downtown area.

Many possibilities have been proposed, including:

  • Modifying the channel of Shoal Creek
  • Detention ponds
  • Underground conveyance of flood waters
  • Community resiliency

Some of these are more promising than others. Please join us at a this public meeting to find out more! Parking is available, bring your ticket in to receive parking validation.

If you can’t make it in person, you can attend the meeting from home!
