Shoal Creek Conservancy and the Pemberton Heights Neighborhood Association have joined forces to help keep Shoal Creek safe, clean and beautiful. This pilot project encourages volunteers to regularly walk the trail and creek and report water quality, trash, graffiti and other issues. In early 2017, volunteers walking the trail reported a series of water pollution incidents on Shoal Creek. These reports resulted in immediate actions by the City to investigate the sources of pollution. This project recognizes the critical role citizen reporting plays in keeping Shoal Creek healthy. The Shoal Creek Stewards are our community eyes and ears on the creek.
