What:

Now more than ever, Austinites appreciate their urban trails. The Shoal Creek, Boggy Creek and Butler Hike and Bike Trails, and many others across the city, are seeing increased use as Austinites seek fresh air and a dose of nature. Austin’s urban trails system is providing physical and mental health benefits in some of the most picturesque parts of Austin.

But how is this important asset planned, funded and managed? Join Hill Country Conservancy’s George Cofer, Shoal Creek Conservancy’s Nina Rinaldi and Austin Parks Foundation’s Tom Visco on a live broadcast as they interview Katie Wettick of the Public Works Department and Nathan Wilkes from the Transportation Department, who are responsible for Austin’s network of urban trails and bikeways.

Learn a little about the history of your favorite trails, and see how you can help us continue maintaining and developing this essential public asset. Find more info and RSVP at austinparks.org/talkingtrails.
