Guided by the vision set forth in the Shoal Creek Trail Plan, Shoal Creek Conservancy is working with the City of Austin to advocate for improvements to the Trail between W 24th Street and W 34th Streets.
In August 2023 the Austin Transportation and Public Works Department gathered public input on a proposed project to fill the main gaps along this stretch of the trail with the objective to improve trail connectivity, comfort, and safety conditions.
In March 2024, they published the results of their community engagement survey and their revised project plan which includes a 12-foot wide urban trail along the west side of N Lamar Blvd up to 31st Street as well as numerous intersection and traffic safety improvements.
