Shoal Creek Conservancy Receives Two Watershed Planning Grants

Thanks to support from several key funders, Shoal Creek Conservancy has a new project coming down the pipeline! The Conservancy is excited to announce two competitive grant awards from the Still Water Foundation and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality through an EPA grant. These grants will allow us to kick off the Shoal Creek Watershed Action Plan initiative this fall. This in-depth watershed planning process for the Shoal Creek Watershed will result in Austin’s first watershed-specific plan and provide a path to a resilient, healthy and safe creek. Shoal Creek Conservancy will collaborate with community stakeholders to create a holistic management plan to improve water quality and to protect and restore Shoal Creek.

The Conservancy is honored to partner with the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department and the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State on this project. Stay tuned for more information on this initiative and the upcoming stakeholder process.
