Help Shape the City of Austin’s 2026 Bond

June 13, 2025  | By Shoal Creek Conservancy

The City of Austin is currently seeking community input to help shape the 2026 Bond Program, which will determine the City’s capital investments in parks, transportation facilities, libraries, and other community assets. By taking a short survey (open through June 23rd), you can express your priorities for the upcoming bond cycle. Your feedback is a critical part of building an investment package that reflects Austin’s values and needs.

Shoal Creek Conservancy encourages you to emphasize the importance of active transportation infrastructure, including the Urban Trails network. Investments in safe, connected trails like the Shoal Creek Trail enhance mobility, support healthy lifestyles, and provide access to nature. Bond funding has helped build and improve the existing Shoal Creek Trail. Additional funds will improve connectivity, enhance accessibility, and help move the community-led vision for the Big Loop toward completion. Public support for our active transportation programs will help ensure these vital projects receive the funding they need to move forward.

In response to the question about Austin’s greatest needs, you can say: “Austin needs to continue to invest in its growing active transportation network, including high-quality, all ages and abilities Urban Trails.” We also encourage you to rank “Pedestrian and bike safety improvements” first in the Transportation subcategory prioritization section.
