Pet waste station located near the wooden pavilion south of W 34th Street

Between Summer 2022 and Summer 2023, four new pet waste stations were installed along the Shoal Creek Trail! Thank you to our friends at the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department and Watershed Protection Department for working with SCC to make this happen! The new stations are located along the trail:

  • At the intersection of the Shoal Creek Trail and the Butler Hike & Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake
  • South of the W 12th Street bridge
  • South of the N Lamar Blvd bridge across from House Park
  • South of W 34th Street beside the wooden pavilion

Bagging your dog’s waste and tossing it in the nearest trash can is a simple way to keep contaminants like salmonella and E. coli, as well as other harmful bacteria and parasites, from our waterways. Learn more by viewing our Scoop the Poop PSA, or by checking out the City of Austin’s collection of Scoop the Poop resources.

When you take advantage of any of the 21 pet waste stations along the trail, you are personally contributing to a healthier Shoal Creek! Thank you!
