Shoal Creek Shopping Cart Corral 2026 Recap

Thanks to SCC volunteers, Austin Watershed Protection and Austin Resource Recovery, the fourth annual Shoal Creek Shopping Cart Corral was a huge success!

On Saturday, August 29 more than 90 volunteers, partners, and SCC staff at 9 locations along Shoal Creek collectively removed 62 shopping carts, 145 bags of litter, and lots of large bulky items like 3 mattresses, 6 wooden pallets, 3 chairs, a wagon, a convection oven and so much more! These efforts amounted to a staggering 7,000 pounds of litter removed from Shoal Creek!
