Shoal Creek Shopping Cart Corral 2024 Recap

We are in awe of what SCC volunteers, Austin’s Watershed Protection Department, and Austin Resource Recovery accomplished during the second annual Shoal Creek Shopping Cart Corral.
On Saturday, July 27th, 77 volunteers, WPD staff, and ARR staff spread out over 8 locations along Shoal Creek and in just two hours collectively removed 47 shopping carts, 116 bags of litter, and lots of large bulky items like tires, a car engine, a lawn mower, a wheelbarrow and more!
