Shoal Creek’s riparian vegetation plays an important role in reducing erosion, improving water quality, providing habitat, and much more. SCC’s Spring 2023 Sustainability Intern, Margaux Ordoveza, created the following animation to illustrate the challenges facing Shoal Creek and the benefits of restoring, expanding, and stabilizing Shoal Creek’s riparian buffer zones. You can help by volunteering at an SCC riparian restoration workday or by planting native and implementing green infrastructure in your own backyard!
